Quality Engineer

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will play a key role in Holographix’ growth by supporting both product development and the manufacture of our custom replicated optical components and assemblies. The Quality Engineer ensures company-wide compliance to our ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System, and ensures that the quality of our products and services meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading manufacturing improvement initiatives to ensure continuous yield improvement and profitability
  • Analyzing product failures
  • Performing internal and external Quality audits
  • Managing NCRs, CARs, SCARs, and RMAs
  • Proactively identifying and resolving quality-related risks and issues
  • Interfacing with suppliers and customers regarding quality-related concerns
  • Working as part of a team on customer-driven projects
  • Working with custom microlens arrays, diffraction gratings, optical diffusers and other custom optical components.
  • Performing metrology measurements on optical products
  • Writing technical reports and other technical documents
  • Working with the Production group to transition products from development to manufacturing
  • Troubleshooting and resolving thin film coating and equipment problems as they arise

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Optics, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Three or more years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in continuous improvement, process control, 6S, structured problem solving and root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Experience with ISO Quality Assurance programs and QMS/quality auditing
  • Experience handling and inspecting optical components and assemblies desired
  • Experience reading technical drawings
  • Experience with optical systems and measurement equipment
  • Experience operating thin film measurement tools including spectrophotometers and ellipsometers
  • Experience with optical thin film coatings
  • Solid technical process development background
  • Positive approach to new ideas and ability to think “outside the box”
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Arduino, etc.) preferred

Technical Project Manager

Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, the Project Manager is responsible for successful project planning and project management of major development and production programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Scoping, planning, and managing complex technical projects.
  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Resource planning.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving project risks and issues.
  • Ensuring that projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Engaging in the continual improvement of technical processes and procedures required to execute the projects.
  • Establishing effective communication with other departments in order to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Requisitioning materials as required for projects.
  • Managing of external suppliers involved in projects.
  • Communicating project status to customers, vendors, and internal stake holders.
  • Developing cost models and proposals to accommodate customers’ requests for project scope changes.
  • Identifying production bottlenecks and participating in production gap analysis.
  • Travel <10%.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Physics or Engineering (preferably in Optical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a technical lead or technical program manager.
  • Experience with commercial and/or defense-related optical products is desirable.
  • Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet software, or other equivalent project management software.
  • Solid technical process development background. Engineering experience is desirable.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and good strategic thinking.
  • Effective time & prioritization management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Positive approach to new ideas and ability to think “outside the box”.
  • Successful at adapting to, and managing change.
  • Attention to detail (both oral and written).
  • Ability to drive results across multi-disciplinary groups including engineering, design, manufacturing, and corporate management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Assurance programs.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace AS9100 requirements.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 Recognized Revenue accounting principles.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Holographix is seeking an innovative Senior Manufacturing Engineer interested in working in the challenging, fast-paced environment of our expanding high technology company. In this position, the engineer will play a key role in our growth by helping us in all aspects of the design, development, and manufacture of custom replicated optical components and assemblies. The engineer will also support the design, development, and production of custom thin film coatings required for these optical components.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Working as part of an engineering team on customer-driven engineering projects the principal duties and responsibilities for this role include:
    • Lead software-driven automation activities in support of manufacturing and QA goals
    • Support operations for existing products including the setup and implementation of metrology measurements
    • Lead engineering teams on key programs as well as coach and mentor staff on best engineering practices
    • Develop and lead new product and process development initiatives

     

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Working with the production group to move products from development to manufacturing.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving thin film technical problems as they arise.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Science or Engineering (Optics, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Five years or more of relevant experience (with optical component fabrication and characterization preferred)
  • Proficient in mechanical design using DraftSight and/or SolidWorks software
  • Experience setting up and implementing opto-mechanical systems and measurement equipment
  • Ability to operate interferometers, spectrophotometers, and SEM equipment etc. is desired

Senior Optical Engineer

Holographix is seeking an innovative Senior Opto-Mechanical or Optical Engineer interested in working in the challenging, fast-paced environment of our expanding high technology company. In this position, the engineer will play a key role in our growth by helping us in all aspects of the design, development, and manufacture of custom replicated optical components and assemblies. They will also be responsible for the design and the development, and will oversee the production of the custom thin film coatings required for these optical components.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Working as part of an engineering team on customer-driven engineering projects.
  • Designing custom optical thin film coatings using Macleod (or equivalent) thin film design software.
  • Designing custom optical components such as microlens arrays, diffraction gratings and other types of custom optics using Zemax, PCGrate, and GSolver design software (training will be provided as required).
  • Designing, setting up, and performing metrology measurements on new products.
  • Working with the Production group to move products from development to manufacturing.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving thin film technical problems as they arise.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Science (Optics, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • Five years or more of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with optical components.
  • Experience designing optical thin film coatings and operation of thin film coating equipment.
  • Experience with optical systems and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to operate interferometers, spectrophotometers, and SEM equipment etc. desired.
  • Ability to read and create drawings using DraftSight and/or SolidWorks software desired.

Optical Technician

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Optical Technician’s responsibilities include critical cleaning of glass and metal substrates, production of custom optical elements using our proprietary replication technology, and testing and packaging of the final product, as well as other production related work.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience.
  • Experience handling optical components and assemblies is desirable.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

Thin Film Coating Technician
