Technical Project Manager

Reporting to the Program Management Director, the Project Manager is responsible for successful project planning and project management of major development and production programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Scoping, planning, and managing complex technical projects.
  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Resource planning.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving project risks and issues.
  • Ensuring that projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Engaging in the continual improvement of technical processes and procedures required to execute the projects.
  • Monitoring and controlling a project’s performance (using Microsoft Project as well as other applicable software).
  • Establishing effective communication with other departments in order to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Requisitioning materials as required for projects.
  • Managing of external suppliers involved in projects.
  • Communicating project status to customers, vendors, and internal stake holders.
  • Developing cost models and proposals to accommodate customers’ requests for project scope changes.
  • Identifying production bottlenecks and participating in production gap analysis.
  • Travel <10%.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Physics or Engineering (preferably in Optical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a technical lead or technical program manager.
  • Experience with commercial and/or defense-related optical products is desirable.
  • Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Project software, or equivalent project management software.
  • Solid technical process development background. Engineering experience is desirable.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and good strategic thinking.
  • Effective time & prioritization management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Positive approach to new ideas and ability to think “outside the box”.
  • Successful at adapting to, and managing change.
  • Attention to detail (both oral and written).
  • Ability to drive results across multi-disciplinary groups including engineering, design, manufacturing, and corporate management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Assurance programs.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace AS9100 requirements.

Optical Technician

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Optical Technician’s responsibilities include critical cleaning of glass and metal substrates, production of custom optical elements using our proprietary replication technology, and testing and packaging of the final product, as well as other production related work.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience.
  • Experience handling optical components and assemblies is desirable.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

Thin Film Coating Technician

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Thin Film Coating Technician’s responsibilities include cleaning, thin film coating, testing, and packaging of optics, as well as other production related work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience.
  • Experience handling optical components and assemblies is desirable.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

Senior Quality Assurance Technician

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior Quality Assurance Technician’s responsibilities include all aspects of quality assurance including incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, calibration of equipment, 5S implementation and quality audits, as well as other quality related work.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience.
  • Experience handling optical components and assemblies is desirable.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.
