Holographix overcame several challenges on the path to reliably making these OEM optics in volume: slanting the binary grating structure for the master, achieving the structure fill-and-release, and achieving this repeatably in a deterministic process.
Drawing on process and materials knowledge and modeling expertise, Holographix developed a method to deterministicly slant the binary grating master structure and create the grating master. A Holographix proprietary material was capable of filling and releasing in the slanted structure, and drawing on process expertise a repeatable manufacturing methodology was developed to economically produce these large format slanted gratings.
